Public Participation in Local Governance:
This priority intervention area involves the promotion of citizens’ participation in local governance, mobilizing communities to hold local government authorities accountable, ensuring that local government structures work according to their mandate and that women are well organized to participate in decision making processes
Good Governance and Human Rights
advocates for women’s involvement in decision-making at all levels, including traditional Councils of Chiefs, which has been the preserve of men. CODAC builds the capacity of women leaders for effective involvement in governance.
Child Rights and Advocacy
through which vulnerable children are assisted to go to school or learn a trade; children clubs are established in communities and migration of teenage school children addressed in collaboration with other stakeholders.
Women Empowerment and Livelihood Development:
sought to link women’s rights to have voice in decision-making to economic empowerment.
Priority Areas
Reproductive Health Promotion and HIV/AIDS Reduction
This intervention area sensitizes communities, especially the youth, on the consequences of unprotected casual sex as well as multiple and concurrent sexual partnerships. The aim is to help people, and particularly the youth understand and avoid HIV risks from multiple partnerships. Peer educators are trained to work through the child right committees in the communities.
Natural Resource Management and Environmental Sustainability Project
Under which communities are trained to enhance their participation in local natural resources conservation and management for poverty reduction and environmental sustainability.
